Altman Mocks Musk Over OpenAI Purchase Deal

Altman Mocks Musk Over OpenAI Purchase Deal

X (formerly Twitter) is once again a battleground for tech titans, and this time, the spotlight is on Elon Musk and OpenAI CEO Sam Altman. Their rivalry, which began when Musk co-founded OpenAI, has escalated into personal digs and public mockery.

The latest episode in their feud unfolded after a Musk-led group of investors made an unsolicited $97.4 billion bid to acquire the nonprofit that controls OpenAI. Instead of engaging in negotiations, Altman swiftly dismissed the offer and fired back with a sharp retort on X:

The dig was an obvious jab at Musk’s social media platform, whose value has been a topic of debate since he took over.

However, the drama didn’t end there. In an interview with Bloomberg Television, Altman took a personal swipe at Musk. When asked whether Musk’s bid stemmed from insecurity over his AI company, xAI, Altman didn’t hold back.

"Probably his whole life is from a position of insecurity, I feel for the guy."

These remarks highlight the deepening animosity between the two tech moguls. While Musk has openly criticized OpenAI’s shift from a nonprofit to a for-profit model, Altman seems unbothered and unafraid to counterpunch.

With AI dominance at stake, this feud is far from over. Will Musk retaliate? Or will Altman continue to poke fun at his former ally? The tech world is watching closely.
