An old video of actress Rhea Chakraborty has gone viral after CBI gave her a clean chit in the Sushant Singh Rajput case. In the closure report the CBI stated that based on expert opinions, crime scene analysis, witness statements, and forensic reports, "there is no evidence to support the claim that anyone compelled Sushant Singh Rajput to take his own life".

Sushant Singh Rajput was a Bollywood actor known for films like MS Dhoni: The Untold Story, was found dead in his Bandra, Mumbai apartment on June 14, 2020, at age 34. The CBI filed a closure report on March 22, 2025, concluding his death was a suicide by hanging, based on forensic evidence and autopsy findings from Cooper Hospital.
CBI Clean Chit To Rhea
The CBI application filed on Friday cleared Rhea, her parents Indrajit and Sandhya, her brother Showik, Sushant’s sister Priyanka, and a doctor named in a counter-FIR by Rhea. The agency stated none were involved in abetting the suicide, which was initially probed by Mumbai Police before being transferred to the CBI following a plea from Sushant’s father, Krishna Kishore Singh, to the Bihar Police alleging financial misconduct and abetment.
Rhea's Old Video Goes Viral
In the viral video, Rhea recounts the social media backlash she faced during the time she was involved in his death. She says she, "was called a Chudail, Vishkanya, Murder, Drug Peddler." She reflects on the impact, stating, "When you're called names like Joel, Vishkanya, murderer, drug peddler, all of this, you don't have an option but to let go of that person."
Rhea's Shift In Perspective
Rhea discussed how the experience shifted her perspective. She says, "For me, an incident like this that happened in my life that made me realize that I genuinely don't care anymore about what you think about me." She adds, "If you think I'm a witch, then maybe I'm a witch. It doesn’t matter beyond the point, and that is very liberating."She connects this liberation to breaking free from societal norms, saying, "Today I dress the way I want, sit the way I want, abuse if I want to. I don’t judge myself and I think that’s a very important part of liberating yourself, not living by the rules that were, you know, predetermined by people 100 years ago of what a good girl should be." She concludes, "You be whatever kind of girl you want to be, man."
