The Transformation Of Sana Khan: From Bigg Boss To A Mom Of Two

The Transformation Of Sana Khan: From Bigg Boss To A Mom Of Two

Mumbai girl Sana Khan is controversy's favourite child. From her steaming affair and public breakup with Melvin Louis to her leaving behind the film industry, Sana is always making news.

Khan carved a niche in the entertainment industry with her striking looks and on-screen presence. Starting as a model, she quickly gained attention through numerous advertisements.

After starring in the adult drama 'High Society', Sana moved to the south and began her acting career with a Tamil movie, ‘Silambattam’ (2008), for which she won the ITFA Best New Actress Award.

Roles followed this in Bollywood films like 'Halla Bol' (2008), 'Jai Ho' (2014), and the erotic thriller 'Wajah Tum Ho' (2016). However, she garnered the limelight with her participation in the controversial reality show 'Bigg Boss' in 2012.

Her Relationship With Melvin Louis

Sana Khan and Melvin Louis began dating in 2019, creating a buzz with their public displays of affection and social media posts. Their love story seemed picture-perfect, with both often expressing admiration for each other.

However, things soon took an ugly turn in early 2020 when Sana accused Melvin of infidelity. She claimed he cheated on her and emotionally manipulated her, leading to a bitter public fallout.

Quitting Showbiz And Moving Towards Spirituality

In 2020, Sana was depressed after her breakup with Melvin and decided to leave behind the film industry and chose a path of spiritualism. She announced the news through a post on social media. This left everyone shocked.

The post read, “I declare today that from today onwards, I have resolved to say goodbye to my Showbiz lifestyle forever and serve humanity and follow the order of my Creator. All brothers and sisters are requested to pray for me to Allah to accept my repentance and grant me the true ability to live in accordance with my determination of spending my life following the commandments of my Creator and in the service of humanity, and grant me perseverance in it.”

How Sana Remains Controversy’s Favourite Child

Despite leaving behind the world of films, Sana remains in the limelight because of her bizarre statements. In 2024, Sana’s statements on Rubina Dilaik’s podcast Kisi Ne Bataya Nahi went viral.

While the podcast began on a great note, it soon took a judgmental turn. During a segment of the show, Sana talked about modesty and stated that every man likes his wife to stay modest. Elaborating on the same, the former actress stated, “Kabhi Kabhi mai aese mardon ko dekhti hoon to mujhe ajeeb lagta hai ki tum kaise apne biwiyon ko itne chuntu puntu kapde pehankar baahar leke chale jaate ho and they feel proud about it.”

Sana further said, “In my journey from sleeveless to backless, mujhe pata hi nahi chala ki shaitan ne mujhe as a woman nanga kab kar diya (I didn't even realize when the devil stripped me naked).”

The Backlash

Netizens and celebrities were furious with Sana Khan’s judgmental comments. Uorfi Javed took to Instagram and bashed Sana for her statements on Rubina’s show. Her Instagram post read, “Bringing other women down, considering yourself superior because of your new 'clothing choices'. Your choices don't make you superior from the ones who make different choices. Other women can shame you too for your choices but we ain't doing that. Lady if you can wear whatever you want and don't want to be judged, other women can demand that too."

Our Two Cents

Feminism is all about having choices. If you want to wear an abaya or a mini skirt, it should be the choice you make. Feminism is also about not being judgmental and bringing others down for their choices. Sana’s journey to spirituality is commendable, however, her views on women are regressive and kind of nullifies the point of being a feminist, haina?
