Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath marked eight years in office, attributing the state’s transformation to PM Modi’s leadership. Speaking at a press conference, he expressed gratitude to the 25 crore residents for their support, emphasising the progress made under what he calls "the double-engine government."UP Chief Minister reflected on the state of affairs in Uttar Pradesh eight years ago, stating, “Most of us know what the condition and identity of UP was 8 years ago. The condition of UP’s infrastructure and economy was not hidden. Farmers were committing suicide, youth were struggling, daughters and traders were unsafe, and people tolerated the poor economy because of riots and the collapsed law and order situation.
”Vast Changes With Same Machinery: Yogi
Yogi Adityanath claimed that in the same state, and despite having the same machinery, the NDA government in Uttar Pradesh had achieved "vast changes." He highlighted the revival of the sugar industry as a key achievement, noting that 122 sugar mills were now operational, with sugarcane farmers receiving over ₹2.8 lakh crores since 2017—outstripping the previous 22 years’ efforts.
UP CM Highlights Infra Boost
The UP CM also talked about his government's achievements in the infrastructure space, saying the segment "has seen a massive boost", with projects like the Purvanchal, Bundelkhand, and Ganga Expressways enhancing connectivity, attracting investment, and creating jobs.
Lawlessness Curbed In UP: Yogi
On law and order, Yogi Adityanath stressed that pre-2017 organised crime and lawlessness have been curbed through strict measures, ensuring peace and security across the state. He also asserted that welfare initiatives have uplifted citizens of the state, with schemes like Ayushman Bharat improving healthcare and Kanya Sumangala Yojana supporting girls’ education.
Uttar Pradesh: The Road Ahead
Looking ahead, Yogi outlined an ambitious vision to make Uttar Pradesh a $1 trillion economy, focusing on sustained growth in infrastructure, industry, and social welfare. He concluded by reaffirming his commitment to building a self-reliant Uttar Pradesh, showcasing how effective governance can reshape a state’s destiny.
