"Do whatever the hell you want": Iran's President rejects Trump's negotiation offer

Iran’s President Masoud Pezeshkian has strongly rejected U.S. President Donald Trump’s call for a new nuclear deal, responding defiantly, "Do whatever the hell you want." This rejection came after Trump sent a letter to Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, urging Tehran to negotiate a new nuclear deal or face potential military action. The comments highlight rising tensions over Iran’s nuclear program, which the U.S. has sought to limit through diplomatic pressure and sanctions.

The dispute primarily revolves around the 2015 nuclear deal, formally known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), which was signed between Iran and world powers, including the U.S. However, in 2018, President Trump unilaterally withdrew the U.S. from the agreement, citing Iran’s failure to fully comply with the terms. Since then, Iran has progressively scaled back its commitments under the deal, including enriching uranium beyond the levels specified in the agreement.
Pezeshkian, who was elected president in July, has advocated for the revival of the 2015 agreement, believing it is the best path forward for peace and regional stability. He criticized the U.S. withdrawal and emphasized that any future negotiations must respect Iran's sovereignty and be conducted on equal terms.

Despite this, Iran’s Supreme Leader Khamenei, who holds ultimate authority, has consistently rejected talks with the U.S., calling them "unwise" and a form of humiliation for Iran.

Iran continues to assert that it has no intentions of developing nuclear weapons, while maintaining its right to pursue peaceful nuclear energy. The U.S., on the other hand, continues its "maximum pressure" campaign with sanctions, and Trump’s recent comments suggest that military action remains a possible option. As the diplomatic standoff continues, the future of Iran’s nuclear ambitions remains uncertain.
