Imagine checking your bank balance and finding a number so huge that even the world’s richest man would look poor in comparison! That’s exactly what happened to Ajit, a resident of Hathras village in Uttar Pradesh, who recently became an overnight sensation.
On April 25, Ajit discovered something bizarre — his bank account showed a jaw-dropping amount of Rs 1,00,13,56,00,00,01,39,54,21... — a mind-boggling 36-digit figure, as per NDTV report. To put that into perspective, this ghost amount is more than the combined net worth of several billionaires, including Elon Musk whose wealth is estimated at $389 billion.

The strange discovery came just a day after two small transactions of Rs 1,800 and Rs 1,400 were debited from his account. Initially, Ajit’s wife admitted to a moment of innocent excitement, fantasizing about a luxurious life. But the joy quickly turned into fear, was this a cyber fraud?
Ajit immediately contacted his bank, only to be told that the absurd balance was due to a technical glitch connected to a branch in Jammu and Kashmir. But when the error didn’t disappear, Ajit turned to the police for help. The authorities have now advised him to lodge a formal cybercrime complaint.
His account has been frozen as a precaution, and Ajit now fears he might be at the center of a larger scam. Meanwhile, social media users are having a field day with memes and jokes about the accidental billionaire from Hathras.
This strange yet serious glitch raises questions about digital banking reliability and cyber fraud readiness. As digital systems grow in scale, even a tiny error can spark panic and confusion. For Ajit, it’s not a jackpot, it’s a nightmare in numbers.
