Trump then took on the Biden administration and said, “For four long years, we had an administration that tried to abolish the very concept of womanhood and replace it with radical gender ideology... Under the Trump administration, we're ending the Marxist war on women."

The US President also used the occasion to slam gender reassignment surgeries. He said, “No matter how many surgeries you have or chemicals you inject, if you’re born with male DNA in every cell of your body, you can never become a woman. You're not going to be a woman."

Trump’s gender policy
Donald Trump also highlighted how the decision on sticking to just two genders was one of the first key decisions he took. Trump said, “On day one, I made the official policy of the United States that there are only two genders: Male and female... Is there anybody that disagrees with that in this room? I was thinking maybe somebody from the press might raise their hand."
The Trump gender order
Donald Trump had issued the executive order 14168, titled "Defending Women from Gender Ideology Extremism and Restoring Biological Truth to the Federal Government", on January 20, 2025, the day of his inauguration as the President of the United States for the second time.
Through that order, the Trump administration withdrew federal recognition for transgender people, making it mandatory for US government departments to recognise gender as an immutable male-female binary.
