Union Minister Nitin Gadkari announced a new FASTag-based annual pass for private vehicles to ease highway travel.
It’s a one-year pass costing ₹3,000 for private cars, jeeps, and vans. Valid for 200 trips or 12 months—whichever comes first.
Only private non-commercial vehicles like cars, jeeps, and vans. Use in commercial vehicles will deactivate the pass.
It works at National Highway (NH) and National Expressway (NE) toll plazas. Regular charges apply on state highways.
If your existing FASTag is valid and affixed properly, you can activate the pass on it. No need to buy a new one.
Each toll crossing = 1 trip. Round trip = 2 trips. Closed tolling (entry+exit) = 1 trip.
From August 15, the average toll cost per trip with the pass will be just ₹15—making travel cheaper and predictable.
Activation and renewal will be available soon on the Rajmarg Yatra App, and websites of NHAI and MoRTH.
The annual pass is optional. Regular FASTag users can still pay tolls per use at normal rates.
The move aims to reduce wait times, ease congestion, and eliminate toll disputes—ensuring smoother drives nationwide.
