Indore has once again secured its place as India’s cleanest city, winning the title for the 8th consecutive year in the national cleanliness survey.
Under the newly introduced Super Swachh League category, Indore ranked 1st, followed by Surat & Navi Mumbai, setting high benchmarks for cleanliness.
In cities with a population of over 10 lakh, Ahmedabad took the top spot, with Bhopal & Lucknow following closely behind in the Swachh Shahar category
In 3-10 lakh population range, Noida emerged as the cleanest city, while Chandigarh and Mysore secured second and third positions respectively.
Over 14 crore citizens joined the 2024–25 Swachh Survekshan via apps, social media & direct feedback across 4,500+ cities.
Over 3,000 assessors evaluated city wards for 45 days, focusing on sustainability and the 3Rs—reduce, reuse, and recycle.
A total of 78 awards were given this year, celebrating large cities, mid-sized towns, Ganga towns, cantonments, and promising cities in each state.
President Droupadi Murmu presented the awards at a national event attended by Union Minister Manohar Lal and key officials from top-performing cities.
