Screens, indoor routines, and poor habits are leading to early eyesight issues. Let’s fix that with these 8 tips.
Stick to the 20-20-20 rule. Cut down screen time and avoid screens at least 1 hour before sleep.
Let your child spend 2+ hours outdoors daily. Natural light and distance viewing reduce myopia risk.
Teach kids to read in bright light, sitting upright, with books 14–16 inches away. No reading in bed!
Add foods like carrots, spinach, eggs, fish, nuts, and citrus to their meals—rich in vitamins A, C, E, and omega-3s.
Poor sleep leads to eye strain. Kids need 8–10 hours of sleep to allow eyes to rest and repair.
Simple drills like palming, blinking, near-far focus, and figure-8 movements help reduce fatigue.
Even without complaints, get your child’s eyes checked every 6–12 months to catch silent issues early.
Children copy adults. If you take screen breaks, eat well, and care for your eyes—they’ll do the same.
