Secure windows/doors, clear drains, remove yard hazards, and stock food, water, medicines, and first-aid supplies.
Monitor weather alerts via official channels. Keep a battery-powered radio or a charged mobile device to receive updates.
Identify safe shelters & evacuation routes in advance. Keep important documents in a waterproof folder. Always follow local authorities’ instructions.
Stay away from windows and doors. Seek shelter in a small, windowless room if possible. Avoid using electrical appliances and corded phones.
Do not walk, swim, or drive through floodwaters. Even shallow water can be dangerous and hide hazards like debris or live wires.
Keep water, non-perishable food, flashlight, batteries, first-aid kit, and medicines handy. Include masks and sanitizer for hygiene.
Avoid returning home until authorities declare it safe. Watch out for fallen power lines, weakened structures, and contaminated water.
Assist neighbors if safe. Listen to official instructions for aid distribution. Report emergencies and follow health and hygiene precautions.
