In flood-like conditions, stay calm. Follow updates from IMD or disaster authorities. Avoid panic and act wisely.
Do not walk or drive through waterlogged roads. Hidden manholes and electric wires can be fatal.
If water enters your home, switch off electricity and gas from the main supply. Stay away from wet switches.
Keep essentials like water, food, torch, power bank, medicines, and ID documents ready in a waterproof bag.
Avoid going out. If indoors floods worsen, move to upper floors or safe shelters nearby.
Charge your phone and power banks. Communication may be affected during prolonged rain or outages.
Rely only on official channels like IMD, NDMA, or state disaster alerts—not social media forwards.
Avoid elevators during floods or power cuts. Use stairs to stay safe from getting trapped.
Check on neighbours, especially the elderly or children. Share essentials if conditions allow.
After water recedes, beware of infection risks, slippery areas, and electrical hazards. Disinfect surroundings.
