As temperatures drop, provide your pets with cozy blankets, beds, or even a heated mat. Small or short-haired pets may benefit from a soft sweater.
Cold floors, icy pavements & snow can harm your pet’s paws. Use paw balm or pet-safe booties to protect them from cracks, frostbite, and discomfort.
Even in winter, pets need fresh water. Make sure their water bowls don’t freeze and encourage them to drink regularly to avoid dehydration.
Outdoor pets may need extra calories in colder months—feed nutritious meals and monitor weight to keep them healthy.
Avoid long walks during extremely cold days. Keep an eye on signs of shivering, lethargy, or discomfort & bring them indoors if the weather is harsh.
Brush pets regularly to prevent tangles and mats that trap cold, and avoid shaving too short since fur provides winter insulation.
When outdoor time is limited, keep your pets active indoors. Toys, puzzle feeders & short training sessions provide mental and physical stimulation.
Schedule a vet visit before winter. Monitor for frostbite or hypothermia and keep pets safe around heaters and fireplaces.
