Former India captain MS Dhoni is now part of cricketing immortality, inducted into the ICC Hall of Fame 2025.
Dhoni was honoured alongside Australia’s Matthew Hayden and South Africa’s Hashim Amla among seven inductees this year.
“Celebrated for his calm under pressure and unmatched tactical nous,” said ICC in its tribute to Dhoni’s iconic legacy.
17,266 runs, 829 dismissals, 538 international matches — Dhoni’s career was built on consistency, fitness, and leadership.
He made his India debut in 2004, and by 2007, he was leading the team in the inaugural T20 World Cup — which India won under his leadership.
Dhoni is the only captain to win all three ICC white-ball titles: T20 World Cup (2007), ODI World Cup (2011), Champions Trophy (2013).
ODIs: 10,773 runs, avg 50.57, 10 100s Tests: 4,876 runs, 6 100s, nearly 300 dismissals
He redefined the role of a finisher in ODIs and set benchmarks for modern-day wicketkeeper-batters.
Dhoni’s uncanny accuracy with DRS calls earned it a nickname — the “Dhoni Review System.” His sharp judgment became legendary behind the stumps.
With this induction, Dhoni becomes the 11th Indian cricketer to be included in the prestigious ICC Hall of Fame.
“To be remembered alongside all-time greats is a wonderful feeling. It is something I will cherish forever,” said Dhoni.
