Sunrisers Hyderabad signed off with a massive 110-run win over defending champions Kolkata Knight Riders, powered by Klaasen’s blazing century.
Heinrich Klaasen scored an unbeaten 105 off just 39 balls featuring clean hitting with seven fours and nine sixes that flew into the second tier.
Travis Head found form in SRH’s final game, scoring a commanding 76 off 40 balls, giving the team a dream start alongside Abhishek Sharma.
Head and Abhishek Sharma added 79 runs in the Powerplay. SRH’s top-order carnage set the stage for a towering total of 278 for 3 in 20 overs.
KKR bowlers struggled, with Nortje, Chakravarthy, and Harshit Rana hit hard; only Narine kept things tighter with 2 for 42.
Sri Lankan pacer Eshan Malinga and left-arm spinner Harsh Dubey took three wickets each, as KKR were bowled out for 168 in 18.4 overs.
Veteran pacer Jaydev Unadkat chipped in with the crucial early wickets using clever changes of pace, finishing with 3/24 in four overs.
Manish Pandey with 37, Harshit Rana’s quick 34, and Sunil Narine’s 31 were the only bright spots in an otherwise disappointing chase.
Sunrisers Hyderabad ended with 13 points from 14 matches, six wins, missed playoffs; Kolkata Knight Riders finished below them.
SRH started IPL 2025 with a record 286 against RR and ended with 278 versus KKR, but tough wickets and close losses cost them playoff chances.
