A special Supreme Court bench modified its earlier order on stray dogs in Delhi-NCR.
Picked-up canines must be sterilised, vaccinated, and released back in the same area.
Dogs with rabies or aggressive behaviour will not be released back.
The August 11 prohibition on release of stray dogs from shelters is kept in abeyance.
Civic bodies must create safe feeding spaces depending on dog population in each ward.
Feeding stray dogs on roads will not be permitted to avoid conflicts.
Notice boards must be installed near feeding zones to guide residents.
People feeding dogs on streets may face prosecution under relevant laws.
All states and UTs are now parties to the case; pending high court pleas transferred to SC.
The case will be taken up again after eight weeks for further hearing.
