Keep your calm and quickly move away from the snake; panic can increase heart rate and spread venom faster.
Position the bitten limb below heart level to slow venom spread through the bloodstream and mitigate damage.
Do not use tourniquets or make cuts on the bite site; these can worsen the injury or cause severe complications.
Use a splint to immobilise the bitten limb. Restricting movement can help slow venom distribution.
Gently remove any tight clothing or accessories near the bite to allow for swelling and reduce pressure on the wound.
Avoid trying to suck out the venom or apply ice; these actions do not aid and can harm the affected area.
Seek immediate medical attention. Call emergency services or arrange for quick transport without delay.
Note the snake’s appearance and any symptoms experienced. Share this vital info with healthcare providers.
