Chennai Super Kings thump Gujarat Titans by 83 runs to end their IPL 2025 campaign on a high. GT’s top-two hopes now hang in balance.
Devon Conway (52 off 35) and Dewald Brevis (57 off 23) laid a solid platform as CSK posted a massive 230/5.
India U19 skipper Ayush Mhatre smashes 28 runs off Arshad Khan’s over! His fiery 34 off 17 gave CSK a dream start.
Urvil Patel hammered 37 off 19 balls at a strike rate of 194. His six off Rashid Khan was the standout shot of the innings.
Dewald Brevis destroyed GT’s bowling with 6, 6, 4 off Siraj. Added 74 runs with Jadeja to cap CSK’s innings in style.
Chasing 231, GT were rocked early — 3 down for just 35 in Powerplay. Gill, Buttler, and Rutherford fell cheaply.
Anshul Kamboj (3/13), Noor Ahmed (3/21), and Jadeja (2/17) ensured GT folded for 147 in 18.3 overs.
GT (18 pts) stay top, but NRR took a hit. They now depend on RCB vs LSG and PBKS vs MI results to stay in top two.
CSK: 230/5 (Brevis 57, Conway 52) GT: 147 all out (Sudharsan 41) CSK win by 83 runs
MS Dhoni on retirement: "I'll go back to Ranchi, enjoy bike rides. Not saying I’m done, not saying I’m coming back."
CSK finish at the bottom (8 pts) — their worst IPL season. But youngsters like Mhatre, Urvil & Brevis showed promise for the future.
