Mitchell Marsh’s maiden IPL century (117) powered Lucknow Super Giants to a 33-run win over Gujarat Titans in Ahmedabad.
Mitchell Marsh smashed a sensational 117 off 64 balls, his first-ever IPL hundred, setting the tone for LSG’s dominance.
Marsh hit 10 fours and 8 sixes, taking apart GT’s bowling attack with clean, powerful hitting across the park.
Nicholas Pooran hammered an unbeaten 56 off 27 balls, his fifth fifty this season, finishing LSG’s innings in style.
Marsh and Markram added 91 for the first wicket. Marsh and Pooran followed with 121 in just 8.3 overs.
LSG's total of 235 was too much for the Titans. Their 17 sixes marked their best-ever six-hitting show in IPL.
William O'Rourke delivered a match-winning spell with 3/27, derailing GT’s chase with crucial wickets.
GT’s Shahrukh Khan (57) and Sherfane Rutherford (38) fought hard, adding 86 runs, but it wasn’t enough.
With this loss, GT missed a golden opportunity to seal a top-two spot. Their final game against CSK now becomes critical.
LSG will face RCB on May 27 in their final league match, aiming to finish strong.
