Gujarat Titans triumphed by three wickets over Mumbai Indians in a rain-affected IPL 2025 match, reduced to 19 overs under the DLS method.
Gujarat Titans surged to the top of the IPL points table with 16 points and a better net run rate (+0.79) than RCB (+0.48).
Mumbai Indians scored 155/8 in 20 overs. Will Jacks top-scored with 53 off 35 balls, while Suryakumar Yadav added 35 off 24 balls.
Jasprit Bumrah (2/19) and Trent Boult (2/22) starred for Mumbai, taking key wickets, including Shubman Gill and Shahrukh Khan, to pressure Gujarat.
Chasing 156, GT faced a shaky start. After rain delays, they needed 15 runs off the final over to win, with a revised target of 147 in 19 overs.
Rahul Tewatia and Gerald Coetzee’s quick-fire batting in the final overs secured GT’s dramatic win, with one run needed off the last ball.
GT needed just one run off the last ball. Arshad Khan and Tewatia scrambled for a quick single, securing the win for Gujarat in a nail-biting finish.
Rain interruptions revised Gujarat’s target to 147 under the DLS method, after they were initially ahead of the par score.
Gujarat Titans stayed calm despite disruptions. Gill (43) and Buttler (30) led the chase, while MI's tight bowling kept it close till the last ball.
With the win, Gujarat Titans climbed to the top of the IPL points table, tied with RCB on 16 points, thanks to a better net run rate.
