Leading the charge was the iconic Taj Mahal. This symbol of eternal love in Agra earned a whopping Rs 98.5 crore in ticket sales, welcoming nearly 68 lakh visitors. It continues to be India’s most visited and most lucrative monument.
In second place stands Delhi’s Qutb Minar. Built in 1199, this towering victory minaret earned Rs 23.8 crore, attracting over 33 lakh visitors—a testament to its timeless allure.
Next up is the Red Fort, another jewel in Delhi’s crown. This majestic Mughal fort generated Rs 18 crore from nearly 29 lakh visitors, remaining a strong draw for both domestic and international tourists.
Agra Fort, just a stone’s throw from the Taj, held its own with Rs 15 crore in revenue and over 16 lakh visitors. Built by Akbar, it offers a grand glimpse into India’s imperial past.
Down south, Odisha’s Sun Temple in Konark attracted 32 lakh visitors, generating Rs 12.6 crore. A stunning ode to the Sun god Surya, it’s an architectural wonder that continues to inspire awe.
Humayun’s Tomb in Delhi also drew significant crowds, earning Rs 11.3 crore. Its design would go on to influence one of India’s greatest monuments—the Taj Mahal itself.
And finally, Mahabalipuram’s Group of Monuments in Tamil Nadu rounded off the list with Rs 9.9 crore in earnings. Known for its ancient rock-cut temples, it remains a favorite for history lovers.
