From Demi Moore losing the Oscar race to Mikey Madison, to Ibrahim Ali Khan being compared to father Saif even before his debut, as well as the hot new releases to catch in theatres and on OTT platforms, here's your weekly dose of the top entertainment headlines.

Need a refresher on all the entertainment news from this week, be it new film releases or celebrity gossip? Here’s a recap of what went down.

Salman-Rashmika's age gap was a hot topic

Salman Khan and Rashmika Mandanna's new music video from ‘Sikandar’ titled ‘Zohra Jabeen’ came out this week. The superstar and Pushpa actress’ pairing reignited the debate on why male stars in their 50s are paired opposite actresses in their 20s. Questions were raised about how, when the genders are reversed are younger male stars are cast opposite older heroines, the internet erupts with mockery.

Demi Moore’s Oscar loss

Of course, this week was all about the Oscars, which was full of drama thanks to Demi Moore's unexpected loss to Mikey Madison, that resulted in fans accusing the Academy of age bias. After Demi swept every other award show by winning the Best Actress trophy for ‘The Substance’, she was a favourite for the Academy Awards, too. But the award ultimately went to Mikey for the film ‘Anora.’

Ibrahim Ali Khan’s pre-debut hype

Back home, all eyes were on Ibrahim Ali Khan's birthday celebrations, which happened right before his film debut. This sparked discussions on whether the hype around star kids is a blessing or a burden for them, and if the constant comparisons with their famous parents’ legacy, hampers their careers.

The public speculation about celebrity relationships

Speculation about ‘Lust Stories 2’ actors Vijay Varma and Tamannaah Bhatia's alleged breakup, raised fresh concerns about how fame leads to the invasion of personal space. Despite lack of confirmation or denial from either party, the internet was quick to churn out gossip, making many wonder if celebrities ever have the space to overcome heartbreak in peace.

Upcoming movies and shows to watch

Ibrahim Ali Khan also made it to our watchlist this week thanks to his upcoming debut film ‘Nadaaniyan,’ which releases on Netflix on March 7. Featuring Khushi Kapoor, Dia Mirza, Mahima Chaudhry, Suniel Shetty and Jugal Hansraj, the romantic Karan Johar production has a star-packed cast.

Another romantic comedy you don't want to miss is ‘Picture This,’ starring ‘Bridgerton's’ Simone Ashley, and comedian Sindhu Vee, which releases on Prime Video on March 6.

For those who want a dash of crime and drama with their weekend comedies, ‘Dupahiya’ on Prime Video promises to bring the laughter with its decorated cast of Gajraj Rao, Renuka Shahane, and ‘Laapata Ladies’ actor, Sparsh Shrivastava.

Finally, if you plan to hit the theatres and science-fiction is your thing, mark your calendars for Robert Pattinson's ‘Mickey 17.’ Directed by ‘Parasite’ creator, Bong Joon-ho, it hits theatres on March 7.
