India conducted Operation Sindoor in the early hours of Wednesday, and launched multiple strikes against terrorist infrastructure in Pakistan. Nine strongholds linked to the Jaish-e-Mohammed, Lashkar-e-Taiba and Hizbul Mujahideen were hit during India's operation. India's Foreign Secretary, Vikram Misri, has issued a statement about the Operation.
Misri says that the investigation into the April 22, Pahalgam Terror Attack established links to Pakistan. The brutal attack in Pahalgam, Kashmir, led to the loss of 26 lives. Operation Sindoor was a direct response to the massacre.
Misri said, "Our intelligence agencies monitoring terrorist activities have indicated that there could be more attacks on India, and it was felt essential to both stop and tackle them." He also said, "Our intelligence indicated that further attacks against India are impending. Thus, compulsion, both to deter and prevent and hence earlier this morning, India exercised its right to respond to deter such more cross-border terrorism."
Misri added, "Our actions were measured and non-escalatory, proportionate and responsible. They focused on dismantling terrorists' infrastructure."
