The girl had been receiving sexually explicit and threatening emails from an account identified as that of one Aryan Yash. The girl said that she also received such messages on her WhatsApp and Telegram accounts. The students claimed that the crucial evidence in the case was erased, alleging the victim was forced to take a shower by one of the guards on the campus, and that the crime scene was washed.

A horrific case of gangrape bid has emerged from the national capital, Delhi. A student of South Asian University was allegedly sexually assaulted by four men, including a security guard, on the campus.

The incident occurred on the night of October 13 near the university’s convocation centre. The first-year B.Tech student did not return to the hostel till late at night, which worried her friends.

Students alleged that the hostel warden and hostel caretaker tried to cover up the incident and instead started blaming the 18-year-old girl.

They also claimed that the administration caused a delay in filing an FIR.

Following a massive protest, the Delhi Police on Monday registered an FIR under several sections of the BNS, including attempt to gangrape, kidnapping, wrongful restraint, and administering poison.

The girl, in her statement to the police, said that the accused tried to strip her clothes and forced a pill down her throat.

She further said that she had been receiving sexually explicit and threatening emails from an account identified as that of one Aryan Yash.

The girl further said that she also received such messages on her WhatsApp and Telegram accounts.

The survivor said that the sender sent a morphed obscene picture of her in these messages.

The sender had asked the 18-year-old to meet her at different locations within the campus.

The students claimed that the crucial evidence in the case was erased, alleging the victim was forced to take a shower by one of the guards on the campus, and that the crime scene was washed.

The university has released a statement saying that the university’s faculty stands in solidarity with the victim and won’t tolerate sexual violence on campus.

The South Asian University condemned the assault case saying"We the SAU community, faculty, staff and students stand in solidarity in light of the alleged horrific act of sexual violence that has been reported on campus. SAU has a zero-tolerance policy on sexual harassment and all forms of violence against women.

We strongly condemn, and stand in support and solidarity," it said.
