India has expressed unwavering support for Afghanistan amid border clashes with Pakistan.

Randhir Jaiswal, MEA spokesperson, said, “India remains fully committed to the sovereignty, territorial integrity, and independence of Afghanistan.”

Showing strong support to Afghanistan, India's External Affairs Ministry spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said Pakistan has a history of blaming its neighbors for its own failures.

Jaiswal further said Pakistan is irked with the fact that the Taliban is exercising sovereignty over its territory.

Jaiswal said, "We are closely monitoring the situation. Three things are clear -- one, that Pakistan hosts terrorist organisations and sponsors terrorist activities."

India’s comments came in the backdrop of worsening ties between Pakistan and Afghanistan.

The two neighbors engaged in armed clashes after Pakistan struck multiple locations inside Afghanistan, including the capital city, Kabul.

Pakistan claimed that it targeted the leaders of the terrorist group Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan, including its chief, Noor Wali Masood, on October 9.

On October 15, the Taliban fighters and TTP militants again launched an attack on Pakistani military outposts along the Durand line. Soon after the clashes, leaders from both nations announced a 48-hour ceasefire.

Pakistan and Taliban are expected to hold a meeting in Doha to end the fighting and resolve the differences.

A delegation from the Taliban government in Kabul is scheduled to leave for Doha within the next few hours for the talks.

Islamabad’s attack on Kabul started one of the worst battles since the Taliban came into power. Pakistan blamed Taliban for providing a safe haven to TTP fighters.

The fighters of the banned TTP have launched multiple attacks in Pakistan. The attacks have caused huge casualties among the military personnel as well as the civilians.

Taliban has claimed that its fighters killed over 58 Pakistani soldiers over the weekend clashes. While Pakistan said hundreds of Taliban and TTP fighters were killed in the precision attacks inside Afghanistan.
