Celebrity hairstylist Amit Thakur, known for styling icons like Nita Ambani, Alia Bhatt, Priyanka Chopra, and Janhvi Kapoor, had once shared insights on DIY egg and curd mask. In an Instagram video, Thakur clarified that while these ingredients have some benefits, they are not the miraculous cures many believe them to be.

Decoding Egg and Curd Hair Mask

Thakur explained that curd, rich in lactic acid, can balance the scalp’s pH and improve hair conditioning. However, it doesn’t have the ability to reverse existing hair damage. Similarly, eggs are a powerhouse of protein, vitamins, and fatty acids, but their large protein molecules cannot penetrate the hair shaft when applied externally.

As a result, these masks provide only a temporary effect, leaving the hair smoother and shinier for a short time without addressing deeper issues or promoting long-term health.
For lasting results, Thakur emphasised the importance of using hair products formulated with well-researched active ingredients derived from natural sources like curd, eggs, and rice. These products are designed to deliver the benefits of these ingredients more effectively and can work wonders in improving hair health over time.

He captioned his video- “DIY masks might give your hair a quick boost, but when it comes to lasting results, it’s all about the right ingredients. Here’s why applying curd and eggs externally isn’t enough and what truly works for your hair health!Disclaimer: Please note that I am not a medical expert, and my insights are based solely on my personal experiences as a hairstylist. For any specific issues or concerns, I recommend consulting a medical professional.”
