After Prashant Veer, CSK have added another exciting young name to their squad — Kartik Sharma — once again investing ₹14.2 crore and making it clear that the “Dad’s Army” tag no longer fits.
But who exactly is Kartik Sharma?
Hailing from Rajasthan, Kartik is known for his explosive six-hitting ability and calm temperament under pressure. What makes his rise even more impressive is that he scored centuries on both his Ranji Trophy and List A debuts, all in the 2024–25 season. He went on to become the highest run-scorer in the Vijay Hazare Trophy that same year.
Trained at Deepak Chahar’s academy, Kartik already brings a sense of familiarity with CSK culture. With Jadeja and Curran no longer around, Kartik and Prashant could form a solid lower-order core.
There’s one twist, though — Kartik’s favourite team growing up was RCB.
And that’s something CSK fans might not love.
