Guess who just joined the elite club of India’s highest-paid actors? It’s none other than ‘RRR’ and ‘Game Changer’ star, Ram Charan! The Telugu superstar, already a household name across India, has now made headlines for his jaw-dropping pay cheque for his upcoming film. If reports are true, he got a 30 percent hike on his previously-drawn salary!

Ram Charan’s salary hike for ‘Peddi’

According to a report by TeluguCinema, Charan is reportedly charging a staggering Rs 125–130 crore for RC 16, now officially titled ‘Peddi’. The film will be directed by ‘Uppena’ fame Buchi Babu Sana.

What makes this even more impressive is that it marks a 30% hike from his last major project. For ‘Game Changer’, directed by Shankar, Ram Charan supposedly charged around Rs 95–100 crore.

The Peddi team officially launched the film with a grand puja ceremony in March 2024, attended by several big names, including Chiranjeevi, A.R. Rahman, and Boney Kapoor. The film stars Janhvi Kapoor opposite Charan, marking a fresh pairing that has already made fans eager for the release.

Ram Charan joins Prabhas, Jr. NTR, and Rajinikanth’s league

With this new hike, Ram Charan has joined the ranks of India’s top earners in cinema. According to a report by Forbes India, Rajinikanth is the second-highest-paid actor in India. The report suggests that the superstar charges approximately Rs 150 crore to Rs 210 crore for a movie. According to the Indian Express, Prabhas charges 100cr to 200cr per film, while Jr NTR charges around Rs 60 crore for his films, as per NDTV.

Ram Charan’s net worth

With a staggering net worth of ₹1,370 crore, as reported by The Economic Times and other public sources, Ram Charan has built a thriving empire. Beyond his stardom in SS Rajamouli’s ‘RRR’, he has made strategic moves across industries, investing in a business management firm, a production house, a polo club, and several start-ups, solidifying his status as a savvy entrepreneur.

As the lines between regional and national cinema continue to blur, Ram Charan is leading the charge, one blockbuster and one massive pay cheque at a time!

What is Ram Charan’s 'Peddi' about?

Starring Janhvi Kapoor and Charan, 'Peddi' first look was out recently, and is allegedly about a community coming together through sports. For the uninitiated, in the film, Janhvi is all set to play a village belle. Her South-Indian film debut with Jr. NTR in 'Devara: Part 1', saw her in a similar role.
