Have you ever wondered if you can enter your favourite celebrity’s home if you were a delivery agent? Social media influencer Shubham Prajapat recently pulled off such an act in Mumbai, aiming to sneak into Shah Rukh Khan’s legendary residence, Mannat.
His plan was simple. He wanted to see if a food delivery agent’s disguise would allow him to meet the superstar. Did his plan work, and what are the legal implications of pretending to be someone else? Let us find out.
The video, which has been making the rounds online, begins with the social media influencer Shubham standing outside Mannat, speaking to the camera about his long-standing wish to meet Bollywood’s “King Khan.” While entry to Mannat is not possible, Shubham decides to try out his genius idea.
He orders two cold coffees; one for himself and, theatrically, one for Shah Rukh Khan. The idea is simple: blend in as a delivery agent and waltz past the gates unnoticed. When the Zomato order arrives within five minutes, Shubham convinces the actual delivery agent to hand him the bag. He then takes the delivery and heads to Mannat, in hopes of being allowed inside the premises.
Did the guards fall for his act? Of course not!
At the main gate, Shubham’s cover story doesn’t pass, and instead, the guards dismiss him and sent him to the ‘secret bac kgate.’ Hope still alive, Shubham heads to the back gate, when the guards troll him.
Having dealt with multiple SRK fans, the guard replies, “Ek phone karega toh poora coffee wala nachega uske saamne.” (If Shah Rukh Khan himself made a call, the coffee guy would probably dance for him on the spot.)
At the end, the influencer shows that SRK's security is tight, and no one can fool them!
While Shubham’s act was mostly harmless, the clip raises an interesting question: when does fan enthusiasm cross into intrusion? We spoke to lawyer Sharvil Kala from Dentons Link Legal who revealed that the crime is punishable by law.
He informed us, “Cheating by personation isn't just a criminal offence; it's a profound betrayal of trust. When someone impersonates another, they're essentially hijacking their identity, which can have serious consequences for innocent victims. Such deceit compromises the very fabric of societal interactions. Under Section 242 of the BNS, the law rightly imposes strict penalties to deter such deceitful acts and protect individuals from the malicious misuse of their identity.”

In addition to that, trespassing on someone’s property while impersonating someone is probably illegal, too.
According to a report by HT, Shah Rukh Khan and Gauri Khan’s Mannat is under renovation; hence, we do not know how old the video is.
For the uninitiated, Shah Rukh Khan’s house Mannat – originally named ‘Villa Vienna’ -- has a built-in area of about 27,000 square-foot. The heritage bungalow was purchased by the actor in 2001 and is located in the posh Mumbai locale of Bandra. SRK had purchased the bungalow in 2001 for Rs 13.01 crore. As of December 2024, Mannat’s estimated value was around Rs 200 crore.
