In a world where celebrity culture constantly evolves, one trend has stood out for its deliciously relatable charm food blogging. From piping hot curries to nostalgic family recipes, the kitchens of stars have become the new stage, and fans are eating it up quite literally.

Many celebrities like Alia Bhatt, Farah Khan, Hansal Mehta, Ashish Vidyarthi, Madhuri Dixit, and Bhagyashree are now as much associated with food as they are with films. What began as a casual hobby for many during the pandemic has now blossomed into full-blown content niches.

Bollywood celebs turn into food vloggers

Take Hansal Mehta, for instance. Known for his gripping films and web series, Mehta has carved a surprising parallel identity online as a food enthusiast. He frequently shares easy-to-follow recipes from his kitchen, often adding anecdotes from his film sets or childhood.

Then there’s Bhagyashree, the 90s icon who won hearts with ‘Maine Pyar Kiya’, and is now winning over a whole new generation with her health-focused cooking content. Her videos feature simple, home-style Indian meals packed with nutrients, minimal in oil, and deeply rooted in tradition.

Even veteran actor Jackie Shroff has gone viral for his love of food, particularly his signature dish, Anda Kadi Patta. Many food vloggers across the country copied his dish and tried to make the Jacky-famous andas!

Alia Bhatt, too, has dipped her toes into the food content space, sharing glimpses of her meals, cheat days, and even go-to recipes. One of her most widely re-created dishes is the beetroot raita.

Back in 2019 and 2020, Alia used to share some healthy recipes she loves to eat at home. In episode 1 and 2 of ‘In My Kitchen ‘on her YouTube channel, Alia showed how she and her chef made some of her go-to dishes that are quick and easy.

Why are more actors turning to food vlogging?

What ties all these celebrity efforts together is relatability. Food is a universal language, something that cuts across class, culture, and borders. When a beloved actor shares what they’re cooking, it creates an intimate connection with fans.

And let’s be honest, fans love to know what their favourite stars are eating. Is it homemade dal-chawal or fancy avocado toast? Are they having Sunday biryani or detox smoothies?

In an age when authenticity matters more than ever, watching celebrities cook even if they fumble, eyeball measurements, or improvise mid-recipe, is refreshing.
