Nepal is once again in the throes of a ‘Gen Z’ uprising with young protesters taking to the streets, clashing with loyalists of the former ruling party that was toppled in the September uprising.

The fresh unrest has forced authorities to impose a curfew in Bara district. The curfew was imposed around 12.45 pm and will remain in place until 8 pm.

Nitish Kumar sworn in as Bihar CM for record 10th time

Shifting focus - JD(U) supremo Nitish Kumar was sworn in as Bihar’s Chief Minister for a record 10th time. The grand swearing-in took place at Patna’s historic Gandhi Maidan in the presence of PM Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, and other senior NDA leaders.

BJP leaders Samrat Choudhary and Vijay Sinha will be Bihar’s Deputy Chief Ministers.

Notably, Nitish, who is reportedly not in the best of health, stammered three times during his swearing-in. The faux pas raised many eyebrows leaving many wondering how long he will remain in the chair.

Open letter by eminent citizens slam Rahul Gandhi

In other news - a group of 272 eminent Indian citizens -- including retired judges, former bureaucrats and ex-members of the armed forces -- hit out at Congress leader Rahul Gandhi.

The strongly-worded open letter accused Opposition leaders of using “venomous rhetoric” that undermined faith in the ECI, and other institutions. In particular, they called out Rahul Gandhi for repeatedly alleging “vote chori” without filing a formal complaint or sworn affidavit.

Trump for nth time claims he stopped Indo-Pak conflict

For the nth time, US President Donald Trump said he stopped the India-Pakistan war.

Speaking at the US-Saudi Investment Forum, Trump claimed that PM Modi called him personally to say that India would not go to war against Pakistan, after he threatened both sides with a 350% tariff.
