The Lucknow Super Giants have just been handed a major mid-season power-up. Speed sensation Mayank Yadav has officially rejoined the LSG camp ahead of their crucial IPL 2025 clash against the Rajasthan Royals, sending a wave of excitement through fans and the franchise alike. The 22-year-old pacer, who had been out of action due to injury, checked into the team hotel on Tuesday night, April 15, and is reportedly in line for selection on April 19.

LSG confirmed Mayank’s return with a slick social media video, giving fans a reason to smile after a turbulent season for the bowling unit. With the pace battery lacking sting so far, the return of their young express bowler could be just the adrenaline shot the team needs.

Mayank has spent the last few months at the National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru, undergoing rehab for a back injury and a toe niggle. It’s been a frustrating spell on the sidelines for the speedster, who was also forced to miss international duties with Team India.

But now, the signs are promising.

Mayank isn’t just another name on the roster — he’s the X-factor. His breakout IPL 2024 campaign saw him clock a jaw-dropping 156.7 kmph delivery (the fastest in tournament history) and claim 7 wickets in just 4 matches before a side strain ended his season early. His raw pace and composure under pressure left fans and experts stunned.

That red-hot form also earned him an India T20I debut against Bangladesh later that year, where he grabbed 4 wickets in 3 games, showcasing that his speed travels well even on the international circuit.

Since then, injuries may have slowed him down, but they haven't dulled the buzz.

Now, with Mayank back in LSG colours and Rajasthan Royals on the horizon, fans can dare to dream again — of bouncers, broken stumps, and the roar of a crowd rising for pace. Mayank Yadav is back. And the IPL just got a whole lot quicker.
