India’s Home Minister Amit Shah on Wednesday paid tribute to the victims of Tuesday's deadly terrorist attack in Pahalgam, south Kashmir. The Home Minister laid wreaths on the bodies of 26 people, mostly tourists, who were killed in the attack. The deceased included two foreign nationals – from the UAE and Nepal – as well as two local residents.

Shah Pays Tribute To Victims

The bodies of the Pahalgam terror attack victims were brought to the Government Medical College in Srinagar early Wednesday before being taken to the Police Control Room, where Shah offered his respects. He was accompanied by Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha and Chief Minister Omar Abdullah. Officials said Shah, who arrived in Srinagar late Tuesday night, has assured the survivors that those responsible for the attack will be brought to justice.

PM Modi’s Meeting With EAM, NSA

Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a high-level meeting with National Security Adviser Ajit Doval and External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar, following the deadly terror attack in Pahalgam. The meeting took place shortly after the Prime Minister's return to India, having cut short his official visit to Saudi Arabia in response to the attack. Originally scheduled to return on Wednesday night, PM Modi arrived early on Wednesday morning.

Rahul Gandhi Calls For Justice

In response to the tragedy, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi expressed his solidarity with the victims' families, calling for justice and full support. In a social media post, Gandhi shared that he had spoken with Home Minister Amit Shah and Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah about the attack, receiving updates on the situation. The former Congress president is currently on an official visit to the United States.

Zero Tolerance For Terrorism: Govt

Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Nityanand Rai has said that the Modi Government is working with a zero-tolerance policy towards terrorism. Rai called terrorism a global challenge and added that India, under PM Modi’s leadership, was determined to eradicate terrorism from the world.
