In a dramatic overnight operation, the Indian armed forces carried out precision strikes across Pakistan and Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir (POK), eliminating over 80 terrorists. Launched around midnight on May 7, the strikes targeted nine high-risk locations linked to terror groups like Jaish-e-Mohammed, Lashkar-e-Taiba, and Hizbul Mujahideen. The operation, dubbed Operation Sindoor, was a direct response to the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack that killed 26 civilians.
Two of the deadliest hits occurred in Bahawalpur and Muridke—infamous as terror breeding grounds. Around 25 to 30 militants were reportedly neutralised at each site, including at Muridke’s Masjid wa Markaz Taiba, often described as LeT’s ideological nerve centre. Other targets included launch pads, training camps, and radicalisation hubs scattered across the region. While initial estimates put the death toll between 80 and 90, officials are awaiting final confirmation from all strike points.
As news of the successful operation broke, social media lit up—not just with national pride, but with loud cheers from India’s cricketing community. Former stars Gautam Gambhir, Aakash Chopra, and Pragyan Ojha led the chorus with posts saluting the Indian forces. Their messages, echoing “Jai Hind,” celebrated the bravery and precision of the armed forces.
Even current cricketers joined in. Kolkata Knight Riders spinner Varun Chakravarthy shared the official Operation Sindoor image on Instagram, blending patriotism with the pride of a nation pushing back against terrorism.
The Indian Army posted a brief but powerful video on X (formerly Twitter), stating: “Justice is served.” And for millions of Indians, that message hit home.
With its swiftness, clarity, and scale, Operation Sindoor was more than a military manoeuvre—it became a national moment. From the cricket field to digital timelines, the sentiment was unified: India stands tall, proud, and unshaken.
