Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) have made their intent clear for the upcoming IPL season — back raw Indian talent and build for the future. In the 2025 mini auction, they continued this approach by investing heavily in three uncapped Indian players, each with impressive domestic records and high ceilings.

The biggest name among the trio is Mukul Choudhary, signed for ₹2.6 crore. A wicketkeeper-batter from Rajasthan, Mukul quietly had an excellent Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy (SMAT), where he emerged as his team’s top run-scorer. In five innings, he scored 173 runs at an average of over 57 and a strike rate close to 200. What stood out was his clean hitting, calm temperament, and clarity of role — all vital attributes in modern T20 cricket. His ability to accelerate without recklessness has made him one of the most talked-about emerging players this year.

Next is Akshat Raghuwanshi, a 22-year-old from Madhya Pradesh, picked up for ₹2.2 crore. Known for his composed yet attacking style, Akshat dominated the Madhya Pradesh League, scoring 239 runs in just four innings. He averaged nearly 60 while maintaining a strike rate of 177, showing the rare ability to combine consistency with aggression. His fearless approach and positional awareness make him a valuable top-order option for LSG moving forward.

Completing the trio is Naman Tiwari, a left-arm pacer who’s been making waves across age-group cricket. Naman finished as India’s second-highest wicket-taker in the U-19 World Cup, grabbing 12 wickets in six matches. He then carried that form into the UP T20 League, taking 19 wickets in just 10 games. Having already trained in the nets with both LSG and Rajasthan Royals, he now gets his chance to shine on the big stage.

LSG’s strategy reflects a deep belief in nurturing homegrown talent. While these players may not yet be finished products, their current performances suggest they’re ready for the challenge. With a strong scouting system and a proven track record of developing players, LSG are not just building a team for now — they’re shaping the next generation of IPL stars.

If these picks click, the 2026 season could be a breakthrough year for both the franchise and India’s cricketing future.
