Comedian Kunal Kamra has announced on Instagram that he has declined an offer to join the current season of Bigg Boss. His announcement comes at a time when he is dealing with a police case, online threats, and show cancellations admist controversy over the comments he made about Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde during one of his stand-up shows in Mumbai

Kamra turns down Bigg Boss

Kamra took to Instagram to announce that he had been approached for the upcoming season of Bigg Boss and he declined the offer. He posted a screenshot of a Whatsapp message from a casting agent and replied, “I would much rather check into a mental hospital.” He added a song from Salman Khan’s Radhe to the post. It’s unclear whether the offer was for Bigg Boss OTT or the main season.

Kamra Shinde Controversy

Karma has rejected the offer at a time when he is facing a police case following a comment he made about Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde during a show in Mumbai. An FIR was filed against him. He has since been summoned by the Mumbai Police.

Kamra relocates after threats

Kamra has also claimed he has received around 500 death threats after the incident. He also approached the Madras High Court regarding the case in Mumbai, which granted him interim protection.

Shows removed by BookMyShow

Kamra has also accused BookMyShow of delisting his shows without clear communication. The platform responded, saying the decision was based on internal processes and that facts had been misrepresented.
