Lionel Messi’s GOAT India Tour event in Kolkata descended into chaos on Saturday after severe mismanagement at Salt Lake Stadium left thousands of fans angry and disappointed. Fans who paid high ticket prices alleged they barely saw Messi, who made a brief appearance before leaving early. The situation escalated as frustrated crowds threw bottles, attempted to break gates, and vandalised parts of the venue, forcing police to use mild force to restore order. West Bengal Police confirmed an FIR has been filed and the chief organiser has been arrested. Authorities said organisers have promised to refund ticket fees. Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee apologised to Messi and fans, assuring action against those responsible and confirming that normalcy has been restored.
