PM Modi to visit Manipur amid ethnic violence

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to make his first visit to the northeastern state of Manipur since ethnic violence broke out in 2023. PM Modi’s trip to unveil projects worth Rs 8,500 crore comes amid mounting opposition criticism over his absence from the state. The violence between Kuki and Meitei communities has claimed over 260 lives and displaced thousands since May 2023.

Bomb threats disrupt Bombay and Delhi High Courts

Proceedings at the Bombay High Court were halted on Friday after authorities received an e-mail threatening to blow up the South Mumbai building. Around 12:45 pm, the administration decided to vacate the premises as a precaution. Police later noted the threat was suspected to be a hoax, but all safety measures were strictly followed. Earlier in the day, the Delhi High Court faced a similar threat before resuming normal proceedings.

Charlie Kirk sniper manhunt enters day 3

A new video released by the FBI and Utah officials shows the man of interest fleeing the scene after the assassination of Charlie Kirk. Officials have not identified the individual as a suspect yet, but the manhunt has now stretched into its third day.

Netanyahu vows no Palestinian state

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu signed an agreement to advance settlement expansion in the occupied West Bank. The decision effectively makes any future Palestinian state virtually impossible, marking a major political shift in the region.

Bolsonaro sentenced to 27 years in jail

Former Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro was sentenced to 27 years and 3 months in prison by Brazil’s Supreme Court. He was convicted in a 4-1 vote by SC judges, accused of plotting a coup to remain in power after losing the 2022 presidential election.
