Home heartbreaks. Away-day heroics. RCB’s 2025 season reads like a paradox—but in the middle of this curious script stands one consistent theme: bounce-backs. And after RCB’s clinical win over Punjab Kings in Mullanpur, the man of the moment, Devdutt Padikkal, finally shed light on what’s powering this dramatic resilience.
Padikkal, who looked in sublime touch during the chase, didn’t deflect or dramatize. His explanation was simple—but telling.
"It's just coincidence that our wins have come away from home but at the same time we have played some really good cricket throughout the tournament," he said post-match.
"I feel we have really gelled well as a unit and that shows. Each time we suffer a loss, we are immediately back up and we're winning games after that."
It’s a rhythm RCB fans have seen play out all season—every stumble followed by a surge. The magic, it seems, isn’t in the surface or the venue, but in the squad’s ability to reset, regroup, and reignite.
Padikkal highlighted how the camaraderie within the group has turned setbacks into springboards. With five wins in five away matches and a batting unit that's clicking at key moments, the southpaw emphasized the importance of building on this wave.
"So it's important that now we continue this momentum and really find a way to win at home as well," he added. "Because of course that's really an important part and the [crowd] deserves to see some wins."
As RCB gear up for their next home clash, it’s not about breaking a curse—it’s about carrying the same intent and cohesion to the Chinnaswamy.
The pitch isn’t the talking point. The mindset is.
And if Padikkal’s words are anything to go by, this team isn’t chasing perfection—they’re perfecting the comeback.
