Veteran industrialist Sunil Vachani, Chairman of Dixon Technologies, spoke to Hook at Fortune India’s event celebrating India’s Best CEOs 2025, where he shared what this recognition means to him, the one leadership responsibility he will never delegate, the daily habit that keeps him grounded, and his advice for the next generation of entrepreneurs.

Receiving the Honour

Vachani describes being on the Best CEOs list as a truly special moment. He credits the recognition entirely to Dixon’s 40,000-strong workforce, calling it their hard work, dedication and commitment.

He says he is simply accepting the award on behalf of his “very committed team,” and thanked Fortune India for the honour.

What a Leader Should Never Delegate

When asked about the one thing a leader must never delegate, Vachani is clear: Setting the agenda and shaping the organisation’s culture. He believes it’s the leader’s responsibility to ensure that the company’s values are understood and lived by everyone.

For him, empowering people so they stay motivated, committed and able to give their best starts at the top.

The Daily Habit That Keeps Him Focused

Sunil Vachani says a key practice keeps him centred every day: his ISHA routine, which he adopted nearly a decade ago.

He credits this spiritual discipline with transforming his life in many ways and it’s something he never leaves home without.

Advice for the Next Generation

His guidance to young people building their futures is refreshingly simple: You don’t have to get into business just get into something you’re passionate about. Whatever path you choose, he says, be fully committed, give it your best, and focus on making a difference in the world.

Impact, not just profit, should be the goal.
