A explosion near Delhi’s iconic Red Fort on November 10 killed at least 8 people.

Police and other investigative agencies quickly ascertained a white i20 vehicle to be behind the blast, which is now being investigated as a terror attack.

While police continue to trace the exact route taken by the Hyundai car, here is what we know about it.

Media reports say the car was owned by a doctor from south Kashmir's Pulwama at the time of the incident. While cops have given no official confirmation, news outlets identify the owner as Umar Mohammad. But the car also changed hands multiple times in the recent past.

The car was said to be in a parking lot near Red Fort for hours before the incident. Before that, the white i20 was also spotted in Darya Ganj, Kashmere Gate and near Sunehri Masjid. Footage from over 100 CCTV cameras is now being stitched together to analyse the full movement of the car.

Delhi Police Commissioner Satish Golcha initially said there were multiple people in the vehicle at the time of the blast. But CCTV footage analysed so far shows just 1 person behind the wheel.

Home Minister Amit Shah told reporters late Monday that the security forces were "keeping all angles open", adding it was "very difficult to say what caused the incident" until forensic samples had been analysed.

At dawn on Tuesday, reporters at the site of the explosion said police white sheets had been erected around the charred remains of vehicles overnight.

Both forensic and anti-terrorism agencies were searching for evidence, while security was increased across New Delhi.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi offered his condolences to the families of those killed, and said he had "reviewed the situation" with Shah.

"Condolences to those who have lost their loved ones in the blast in Delhi... may the injured recover at the earliest," Modi said in a statement.

After the explosion, at the city's LNJP hospital, the emergency ward was chaotic as injured people streamed in and doctors rushed to attend to them. The Home Minister and Delhi’s Chief Minister Rekha Gupta also visited the hospital to meet those who were injured.
