Supreme Court stays key provisions of Waqf (Amendment) Act
India’s Supreme Court has granted major relief by pausing key provisions of the controversial Waqf (Amendment) Act.
This includes the clause requiring a person to practice Islam for at least 5 years before declaring a property as waqf.
The court also stayed the Collector’s power to decide whether a property qualifies as waqf.
However, the 2-judge bench stopped short of striking down the entire statute, which had triggered nationwide protests earlier this year.
Main accused in Delhi BMW case arrested
Gaganpreet Kaur, accused of driving the BMW involved in the tragic accident that killed Navjot Singh, a deputy secretary in the Union Finance Ministry, was arrested today.
Police are probing if there was an attempt to hush up the case by the accused.
The victim’s wife alleged that instead of taking them to the nearest hospital, they were taken to a hospital 19 km away — reportedly co-owned by Gaganpreet’s father.
Charlie Kirk alleged killer not cooperating
The man accused of assassinating conservative activist and Trump ally Charlie Kirk is reportedly not cooperating with authorities.
Utah Governor Spencer Cox said Robinson, who is being held without bail at Utah County Jail, has not confessed to the shooting.
Robinson is expected to be formally charged on Tuesday.
Israel condemned for Qatar attack

The Qatari Prime Minister declared that member nations will support Qatar’s steps to safeguard its sovereignty.
India dominates Pakistan amid post-match controversy
India dominated Pakistan with a seven-wicket win in their Asia Cup 2025 encounter on Sunday in Dubai.
However, controversy followed as Indian captain Suryakumar Yadav and his squad did not shake hands with the Pakistani team after the match.
Yadav confirmed the decision was a mark of protest, reflecting tensions between the two nations following the Pahalgam terror attack in April.
