In the latest in the Delhi Red Fort blast case - after tracing down two cars linked to the suspects, Indian security agencies are now on the hunt for a third vehicle which is missing.

According to PTI, multiple security agencies are attempting to trace the third car, believed to be a Maruti Brezza. The report adds that the police suspect the third car may have been used by the accused for reconnaissance or escape.

Bangladesh on edge ahead of Hasina trial verdict

Shifting focus to our neighbour, Bangladesh - the nation is once again on edge due to a series of crude bombings and arson attacks.

The fresh tensions come ahead of a verdict in ousted Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s trial over the protests and violence last year that left hundreds dead. Hasina’s Awami League party meanwhile has called for a nationwide lockdown in protest.

Next, in a big boost to India’s defence capabilities, the strategically significant Mudh-Nyoma airbase in Ladakh was operationalised by Chief of India’s Air Staff AP Singh.

This after Air Chief Marshal Singh landed at the base on board a C-130J Super Hercules transport aircraft. The airbase, located at a height of around 13,000 feet, is around 25 km from the Line of Actual Control (LAC) with China and was implemented by the Border Roads Organisation (BRO).

Trump signs bill to end the record 43-day US govt shutdown

US President Donald Trump signed a bill that finally ends the record 43-day US government shutdown. This after the legislation was passed by the House of Representatives in a 222 to 209 vote with 6 Democrats joining the Republicans to vote yes.

Taking aim at the Democrats - who didn’t vote for the bill - he declared that only “people that hate” the US don’t want to see it open.

However, it has not resolved one of the shutdown’s most central issues - health insurance subsidies for Americans under the Affordable Care Act. A vote for the same is due to take place in the Senate by December.
