Foldables are already flashy, but Tecno just took things to another level with the Phantom Ultimate G Fold Concept. This next-gen device doesn’t just fold once, it folds twice, giving you a huge 9.94-inch display that goes from phone to tablet real quick. And the best part? It stays super slim. Folded, it’s just 11.49mm thick. Unfolded, it’s a crazy-thin 3.49mm, making it the slimmest tri-fold foldable we’ve ever seen.

But it’s not just a party trick. Unlike most tri-folds that leave the main screen exposed, this one uses a clever G-style inward folding design that keeps the big display safe from scratches and bumps. You still get a smaller cover screen for daily stuff, and everything’s held together by a custom dual-hinge setup—one small waterdrop hinge for tight folding, and a larger one with built-in cameras that even supports hovering like a mini laptop.

Tablet mode, hover mode, workstation mode, you name it

Unfold the Phantom Ultimate G Fold all the way and you’re greeted with a nearly crease-free 9.94-inch display. Whether you’re watching Netflix or running five apps at once, it’s designed for multitasking on steroids. The dual-hinge system even lets it hover in different angles, so you can use it propped up like a mini workstation or fold it halfway for on-the-go content viewing.

It also uses ultra-strong Titan Fibre and high-strength steel to keep things sturdy without adding bulk. Even with all the folding magic, you still get a triple-camera setup, a flagship processor, and a massive 5000mAh+ battery inside. No compromises here.

When and where can we see it IRL?

While this is still a concept device, Tecno says the Phantom Ultimate G Fold is coming to MWC 2026 for a full showcase. It follows up on Tecno's earlier tri-fold prototype that turned heads at MWC 2025. So yeah, this brand is clearly not messing around.

Whether or not this phone ever hits shelves, one thing’s clear: Tecno wants to be taken seriously in the foldables game. And if this concept is anything to go by, the future of folding phones might just involve a few more hinges.
