At the recent premiere of Aryan Khan’s ‘The Ba***ds of Bollywood’ in Mumbai, there was one fashion trend that unquestionably stole the show – the thigh-high slit dress. The premiere saw many big names from the film industry, including Ananya Panday, Madhuri Dixit, Vicky Kaushal, amongst others.
While we loved how everyone styled their outfits, the thigh-high slits caught our eye.
At Shah Rukh Khan's son Aryan Khan’s ‘The Ba***ds of Bollywood’ premiere, a host of Bollywood celebrities turned up the glam factor in thigh-high slit gowns and dresses. Stars like Ananya Panday, Isha Ambani, Suhana Khan, Tamannaah Bhatia, and Madhuri Dixit were seen sporting the thigh high slit dress trend.
While Ananya opted for a silver thigh high slit dress, Suhana chose a green-yellow dress for her brother Aryan’s big night.

Madhuri Dixit also jumped on the trend wagon and wore a thigh-slit fusion dress in blue and posed for the paps along with her husband Sriram Nene.

Even Isha Ambani made heads turn in her white thigh-high slit dress while Tamannaah Bhatia’s gown, with its intricately designed fabric and daring slit, made news.
The thigh-high slit is far from a new trend. In fact, this daring style made its first significant appearance in 1954 with Christian Dior’s H-Line slit skirt. This was a game-changer in the world of haute couture.
While Dior introduced the look, it was made a global sensation by Angelina Jolie in 2012. At the 84th Academy Awards in a strapless black velvet dress by Atelier Versace. Her gown had a thigh high slit and Angelina made sure everyone saw it!

While she was already a red carpet favourite, the moment catapulted her into the viral stratosphere, sparking media fanfare, a string of memes and even social media accounts dedicated to her right leg!
Even other Bollywood stars like Janhvi Kapoor and Manushi Chhillar have embraced this trend for various events. This proves that thigh-high slits are not just a passing fad but a fashion revolution that has come to stay.
