If you needed another reminder that dating in 2025 is an absolute circus, here it is: Tinder just launched an AI-powered flirting game. Yup, instead of chatting with real people, you can now flirt with bots to sharpen your dating skills. Because why risk rejection from an actual human when an AI will roast your game in real-time?

It’s called “The Game Game”

Tinder's new feature is literally called The Game Game, and it's powered by OpenAI. To try it out, you tap the Tinder logo in the top-left corner of the app. You’re then dealt a digital deck of cards — each one featuring a different AI character and a made-up scenario, like a random meet-cute moment at a coffee shop or an awkward first DM.

Here’s the twist: You have to respond using your voice, and the AI will talk back like a real date. Your goal? Charm your way into a virtual date. After that, Tinder gives you a score — measured in flame emojis, of course — and some feedback. If you come off too rude or boring, the AI will call you out and give you tips to improve.

It’s a game… but also maybe a sign of the times

According to Tinder, the game’s meant to be lighthearted and just for fun. But real talk — this might be a subtle nod to how awkward and exhausting online dating has become. Tinder’s clearly clocked the trend and is trying to ride the wave, especially as it faces slowing growth.

Right now, the game is only live for iOS users in the U.S., and it’s a limited-time thing, but let’s be honest — if it pops off, it’s probably going global.

Flirting with AI is now a thing — and Tinder’s all in

Tinder’s no stranger to AI. Last year, it rolled out an AI photo selector, and it's working on more AI-powered features to help with discovery and matching. But this latest move? It's next-level weird, funny, and kind of genius — all at once.

So yeah, welcome to dating in 2025. Your best pickup lines? You might want to test them on a bot first.
