In a first, the Trump administration has welcomed 59 white South Africans to the US under a fast-track regimen, in stark opposition to the complete shutdown of the overall US refugee program.

These members of the Afrikaner community in South Africa were deemed by the Trump administration to be victims of racial discrimination.

However, the Episcopal Church's migration service has refused to help with the resettlement of the group reiterating the Church's longstanding commitment to racial justice and reconciliation.
