A sea of fans eagerly awaited the return of Rohit Sharma after he led Team India to a memorable Champions Trophy triumph in Dubai.

And the moment the Hitman walked out of the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport in Mumbai; the crowd went absolutely crazy. Such was the craze the Indian skipper, who was carrying his daughter, had to be escorted to his car by a security team as he was mobbed at the exit.

The fans wanted to congratulate Rohit for winning the Champions Trophy after 12 years and rushed towards him to try and get a closer glimpse or maybe a selfie. But the police surrounded him and didn't let anyone come close.

Rohit, however, waved at the crowd to thank them, which gathered the loudest cheer. The Hitman eventually made it to his car and left the airport along with his family.

Rohit not only captained India to glory but also played a match-winning knock of 76 in the final vs New Zealand, which helped India seal a win for the ages. The Kiwis set India a tricky target of 252. Chasing which, Rohit and Shubman Gill took their side off to a solid start with a 105-run opening stand. But wickets at regular intervals left fans nervous but India kept its nerve and crossed the finish line with 4 wickets and 6 balls to spare.

The Men in Blue didn't drop even a single game in the tournament and won all 5 of their matches.

The Champions Trophy triumph came after Rohit led India to the T20 World Cup glory a year ago. He has lost just 1 of the last 25 ICC matches as captain, which is a unique record to have.
