Nawab Sheikh, a 27-year-old resident of Murshidabad, West Bengal, went viral after building a motorized bed that operates like a vehicle. According to The Times of India, he spent over a year developing the project and invested around Rs 2 lakh. The effort was part of his personal social media initiative aimed at creating unique and engaging content for online platforms.

Features of the bed-car

The bed is fitted with a motor, four wheels, a steering mechanism, brakes, and side mirrors attached near the bed’s legs. It maintains the appearance and comfort of a regular bed, including a mattress, pillows, and a vibrant bedsheet. Nawab controls the vehicle from inside the bed’s storage compartment, using a steering wheel for smooth movement. The wheels are not visible in the widely circulated video, which adds to the visual surprise of the invention.

Eid debut and viral video

Nawab first drove the bed-car during Eid celebrations. He navigated the streets of Murshidabad with ease, even overtaking other vehicles. At one point during the ride, he stood up and mimicked actor Shah Rukh Khan’s iconic arms-wide-open pose before sitting down and continuing to drive. The moment was captured in a video that quickly went viral on social media platforms.

Social media reactions

The video was shared on Instagram by the handle ‘PrashantKaushi6’. The post was shared today and pulled in more than 7,000 likes. On X (formerly Twitter), the video has received over one lakh views. Online users reacted with a mix of amusement and admiration for the unusual invention and its presentation, calling it creative and entertaining.

Police action and legal issues

The ride caused a traffic jam on the Raninagar-Domkal state highway, prompting police to stop the vehicle. Authorities later dismantled the bed-on-wheels, citing safety concerns. Nawab Sheikh also reportedly faced a copyright issue connected to the design of the vehicle.

Continued attention online

Despite the police intervention, the video continues to circulate, drawing attention for its creativity and uniqueness.
