Tech giant Microsoft is celebrating its 50th anniversary, and to mark the occasion, the company brought together its three CEOs — Bill Gates, Steve Ballmer, and Satya Nadella. When the trio entered the room, they were met by an unexpected guest: an interviewer... Copilot.

The AI Roasts Microsoft’s Elite

Microsoft’s CEO Satya Nadella shared a clip of the conversation on the social media platform X (formerly known as Twitter). He posted, “Three Microsoft CEOs walk into a room on Microsoft’s 50th anniversary … and are interviewed by Copilot!” Nadella even shared the full conversation of the trio with Copilot in that same thread.

The AI Gets Sassy

In the clip, which Nadella shared in his post, the Microsoft CEO asks the generative artificial intelligence chatbot, Copilot, to “wrap up the conversation… by asking, or maybe roasting, the three of us.” Nadella referred to it as “an AI roast” — and who could blame him?

Copilot didn’t hold back, answering, “All right, Satya, let’s spice it up,” before turning to former Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer. Copilot quipped, “Your enthusiasm is legendary, but do you ever worry that your energy might short-circuit the AI? I mean, even robots need a coffee break after your pep talks.”

Steve Ballmer’s Response

Steve, ever the good sport, responded with a laugh, saying that if Copilot couldn’t handle him, it certainly couldn’t handle a significant chunk of the world’s population. He jokingly stressed that Microsoft was “counting on” the AI chatbot to take on the heavy lifting.

Bill Gates Gets the AI Treatment

Next up, Copilot turned its attention to Microsoft founder Bill Gates. The chatbot cheekily asked, “Bill, you’ve got that signature thoughtful gaze, but do you ever think the AI might feel intimidated by your intense thinking face? I mean, it’s like it’s waiting for a blue screen moment.”

Gates, always the one to have a quip up his sleeve, responded, “I hope so. I mean, that’s all I’ve got left... as these AIs get so damn intelligent, it’s just that gaze and my willingness to criticise that differentiate me.”

Satya Nadella’s Final Moment

Finally, Copilot addressed current CEO Satya Nadella, asking, “Now Satya, AI seems to be your best buddy, but ever worry that your deep passion for AI could one day have it running the show, leaving you to just enjoy the ride?”

Unperturbed, Nadella replied, “Well, the day I can play like the best cricket player that I enjoy, that’s the day it can run the show as far as I’m concerned.”
